MENNO S. YODER
Menno S. Yoder, 89 years, farmer and long time resident, died in Lagrange County, Ind. hospital at 12:07 p.m. Saturday November 15, after three weeks serious illness. He had been in poor health for the past year.
He was born in LaGrange county, Indiana February 13, 1863, and lived his life here with the exception of six years in Arkansas and Mississippi. He was married to Caroline Hostetler, who died in 1946.
He leaves seven sons, Olen of Goshen, Lester of Ames, Iowa, Floyd of Coraopolis, Penn., Dorsa of Fort Wayne, Ind., Reuben of Chesterton, Ind., Leo of Fort Wayne, Ind., Glen of Marquette, Mich.; two daughters, Mrs. Noah (Iva) Burkhard and Mrs. Raymond (Elva) Prough of Shipshewana, Ind.; two brothers Dan R. of Goshen, Ind. and Levi R. of Middlebury, Ind.; a sister, Mrs. Mary Powell of Shipshewana, Ind., 27 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted at the late home residence at 1:30 p.m. Monday Nov. 17, and the funeral took place at the Shore Mennonite church at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Percy Miller and Bishop Lee Miller officiated at the servives [sic]. Burial was in the church cemetery. The Yoder funeral home of Middlebury, Ind. was in charge of the arrangements.
He united with the Mennonite church early in life and remained loyal to the church unto his death.
