MRS. EMMA FERN YODER

Emma Fern Yoder, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel D. Helmuth, was born June 30, 1901, in Garden City, Mo. and passed away Aug. 31, 1953, after an illness of several years.

On Jan. 11, 1920, she was married to Omer Martin Yoder and their home was established near East Lynne, Mo. Later they moved to Garden City, Mo. Mr. Yoder died on Jan. 28, 1938.

In early life Mrs. Yoder united with the Bethel Mennonite church and later she and her husband transferred their membership to the Methodist church in Garden City. She was a faithful member, always attending the services of the church as long as her health permitted.

Fern was a devoted wife, a dutiful daughter and a kind and loving sister. One of her greatest joys was in serving others and she was loved by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a sister Beulah, and two brothers, Earl and Roy. Surviving are: Olena (Mrs. C. S. Oesch), Sycamore, Kansas, Samuel L. Helmuth, Oak Grove; LeErma (Mrs. H. V. Campbell), Misson, Kans., Carrie (Mrs. N. E. Yoder), Letha (Mrs. John V. Miller, and Gladys Lucille Helmuth, all of Garden City; also a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Sept. 2 at the Garden City Methodist church, in charge of Rev. Walter Davenport and Rev. W. R. Hershberger. A quartet, Albert Schrock, Wilbur Schrock, Walter Yoder and Ira Zook, sang two selections, ‘'Abide With Me” and "Jesus Lover of My Soul.” Burial was made in Clearfork cemetery.
