Auto Accident Brings Tragedy to Mennonite Family.

Eugene Eymann of Los Angeles, Calif., who together with his family is visiting in Newton with Mrs. Eymann's father, Henry Dirks, reported to the Review this week that he has received further details regarding the tragic accident which the E. Yoder family of Los Angeles recently encountered near Morris, Ind.

Mr. and Mrs. Yoder and their five children left Los Angeles during the latter part of June en route to Indiana to visit with mr. Yoder's brother, M. A. Yoder at Middleton, Ind. Near Morris, Ind., a bad curve in the road and wet pavement caused Mr. Yoder to lose control of the car and it collided with a telephone post, the impact almost totally wrecking the car. The top of the car had to be removed before the occupants could be extricated. Mrs. Yoder, who was most seriously injured, died two hours after the accident without regaining consciousness. Eleanor, the oldest daughter, had two broken legs and one broken arm, both legs being fractured above the knee. Paul, a younger son, suffered a fractured hip and arm. Both of Mr. Yoder's arms were injured, although not seriously. The other children escaped with minor bruises.

Funeral services for Mrs. Yoder were held at the home of relatives in Indiana, although a brief service was also conducted at the Immanuel Mennonite church at Los Angeles, Calif., of which she was a member.

The injured children are confined in a hospital where special casts have been applied to restore their fractured limbs. The other three children are at the home of relatives in Indiana.
