ALPHA B. YODER
In the early morning hours of Sept. 6, 1958, Alpha B. Yoder of West Liberty, Ohio quietly passed to his eternal Home, aged 78 years, one month and 10 days.
He was born July 26,1880, in Logan County, Ohio to Jonas C. and Fannie Kanagy Yoder, the youngest in a family of nine children. At the age of 21 he went west and until 1921 lived most of the time at Talmage, Neb. On Feb. 4, 1908, he was married to Ella Tangeman. In 1921 they returned to Ohio. Mrs. Yoder died in 1954.
On March 20, 1955, he was married to Maude Plank of West Liberty, who survives.
While in the West he conducted a business in Talmadge. Later he became a building contractor, retiring from this work in 1952.
He was a faithful husband, a Christian businessman, and a loyal member of the Oak Grove Mennonite church. He was a devout Christian, joyfully anticipating the coming of the Lord, and interested in promoting activities for the spreading of the Gospel. We treasure his clear Christian testimony.
Three sisters and three brothers preceded him in death. They were Sarah, Mrs. D. B. Yoder, Ella, Mrs. E. B. Stoltzfus, Elmira, Mrs. C. S. Swartz, Johnny, Jonas and Eli.
Those who survive are one brother, David C. of West Liberty, one sister, Lydia Gillespie of Charleston, West Va., his faithful companion, Maudie; 38 nieces and nephews, besides many neighbors and friends who will miss his contagious friendliness and his dynamic, abiding testimony for his Lord.
