EDWARD YEAGER

Edward Yeager, son of John and Sarah (Evans) Yeager, was born in Franklin County, Pa. Oct. 14, 1879; passed away in the Chambersburg, Pa. hospital Dec. 14, 1956, aged 77 years and two months. Although he had been in failing health for some time, death came suddenly as a result of a coronary thrombosis.

On May 11, 1902, he was united in marriage to Annie Ernst, daughter of the late George W. Ernst, who survives. Together they accepted Christ as their Saviour and united with the Marion Mennonite Church on May 16, 1903, later transferring their membership to the Pleasant View Mennonite Church of which he was a faithful member.

To this union were born seven sons and three daughters, Roy, Frank, Raymond, Fred, Earl, Glenn and Mantha [sic Martha], Mrs. Henry R. Ebersole, all of Chambersburg, Milton of Hagerstown, Md., Esther at home and Mary Emma, who preceded him in death. Also surviving are 24 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, two brothers, John of Chamersburg [sic Chambersburg] and Robert of St. Thomas.

"This World Is Not My Home" was his favorite hymn, and now he has gone to enjoy that better Home.

Funeral services were at the Pleasant View Mennonite Church Dec. 18, in charge of John B. Sollenberger, Amos E. Martin and Walter H. Lehman. the text of the sermon was II Tim. 4:6, 7, 8. Burial was made in the adjoining cemetery.
