Mrs. Margaret Yates, daughter of Jacob J. and Sara Heinrichs Frey, was born on Oct. 11, 1889 in Goessel, Kansas and did of a heart attack in her home in Salem, Oregon on April 14, 1962, reaching the age of 72 years, six months and three days.

She resided in Kansas, Texas and Idaho before coming to Salem, Oregon 32 years ago. While in Idaho she joined the First Mennonite Church at Aberdeen.

Her husband and one son preceded her in death.

She leaves to mourn her death two sons, Gilbert Heidebrecht of Salem, Oregon and Ernest Heidebrecht of Vancouver, Wash.; one daughter, Mrs. June Matlock of Cutler City, Oregon; two brothers, John and Arnold Frey of Dallas; two sisters, Mrs. Frank Barber of Salem and Mrs. George Fast of Jennings Lodge, Oregon; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

About 100 relatives and friends gathered April 18 at the Dallas, Oregon Evangelical Mennonite Brethren Church for the funeral service. Rev. Allen Wiebe based his sermon on St. John 14:1. A trio consisting of Esther Frey, Irene Classen and Leona Miles, nieces of the deceased, sang several selections. Nephews served as casketbearers. After a short service at the cemetery, some 50 relatives gathered at the John R. Frey home for a light lunch.
