My father, Arthur Wyse of Wayland, a retired farmer, died Nov. 25 at the age of 85. He was born near Archbold, Ohio on Oct. 21, 1890, the son of Christian and Sarah (Short) Wyse. The family moved to Iowa by rail in 1895. He was baptized at the Sugarcreek Mennonite Church and in 1917 transferred his membership to the Wayland Mennonite Church. Parkview Home had been his residence the past three and one half years. Preceding him in death were his first wife, Clara Koebel, second wife, Lillian Weaver; a son Russell Charles; three sisters, two brothers, and a grandchild. The survivors include Roger, a son; Betty Wyse Farrier, a daughter; a sister, Elizabeth Aschliman of Archbold, 0.; two brothers, Dan of West Unity, O. and Willard of Allegan, Mich.; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
