JACOB A. WOLLMANN

Jacob A. Wollmann was born in South Russia March 28, 1871, and died March 14, 1953, at 1:00 a. m. at the age of 81 years, 11 months and 14 days. His parents were Andrew and Susanna, nee Hofer, Wollmann.

On November 22, 1891, he was united in holy matrimony with Anna Walter, by Elder Paul Tschetter. To this union one son and three daughters were born, of which one daughter preceded him in death. On March 11, 1909, his wife died leaving him to bear the family burden alone. On July 2, 1911, he was married to Katherina Glanzer by Rev. Paul Tschetter and the Lord blessed this union with one daughter and one son. On March 20, 1937, the Lord again took his help-mate and he lived as widower until the end.

On March 22, 1891, he was baptized on confession of his faith and became a member of the New Hutterthal church of which he remained a member to his death. The last few years he realized more than ever his need of the Saviour and took a new stand for Him. His favorite song was, “Wo findet die Seele die Heimat die Ruh.” He loved his family and tried to make life pleasant for them.

Several strokes caused his death. On November 3, 1951, he had a stroke that made him bedfast for 16 months.

He leaves to mourn his death two sons, Jake Wollmann of Redfield, S. D., and Wm. J. A. Wollmann of Freeman, S. D., and three daughters, Mrs. Elias A. Wipf of Bridgewater, Mrs. Elias L. Hofer, St. Paul, Minn., and Mrs. Paul M. Hofer of Freeman. He is also survived by three sons-in-law, one daughter-in-law, 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. One daughter, Mrs. Zack B. Wipf, preceded him in April 1933.

We sorrow not as others which have no hope, for if we believe that Jesus died and rose, even so them also which sleep in Jesus.
