MRS. ANNA WOHLGEMUTH
Anna (Rempel) Wohlgemuth, 64, was born on Aug. 31, 1901 to Jacob and Sarah Rempel in Hamilton County, Nebraska, where she grew up and attended grade schools in the country neighborhood. She died Feb. 19, 1966 after a life of much suffering in lengthy illnesses. In her girlhood she had a severe siege of pneumonia and also had to endure an attack of spinal meningitis.
At an early age she realized her lost condition spiritually, and accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Saviour. Upon her confession of faith, she was baptized and was accepted as a member of the Mennonite Brethren Church near Henderson, Neb. She was a conscientious girl, always striving to do the right and serving her Master and Lord.
In August 1918 the family moved to a farm northeast of Enid, Okla. Anna had her church membership transferred to the Mennonite Brethren Church north of Enid, where she was a faithful member at the time of her death. Here she grew to young womanhood, being active in the church as a Sunday school teacher and was also a member in the church choir. She carried a deep concern for lost souls at home and abroad. She attended the Corn Bible Academy for two years.
On Dec. 19, 1926, she entered into holy matrimony with John B. Wohlgemuth of Hillsboro, Kan., where they established their home. In 1929 they purchased a farm northeast of Enid. There they made their home until ill health of her husband forced their retirement, and they established a new home in Enid. In January 1958 her husband preceded her in death.
Funeral services were conducted Feb. 24 with Rev. John W. Gossen officiating. Rev. John R. Barkman, a nephew of the deceased who is pastor of the of the Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Ardmore, Okla., spoke on "The Glorious Home of the Christian."
She was preceded in death by her husband, her father, two sisters and one brother. She leaves to mourn her departure her mother, Mrs. Sarah Rempel of Fairview, Okla.; six sisters, Mrs. Isaac (Sarah) Regier, Mrs. Jacob B. (Helen) Barkman, and Mrs. Orlando (Eva) Siebert, all of Enid, Mrs. John (Katherine) Buller of Kremlin, Okla., Mrs. Frank (Elizabeth) Buller of Dinuba, Calif., and Mrs. Julius (Martha) Penner of Wichita, Kan.; and two brothers, Gerhard and Jacob J. Rempel, both of Enid.
Nephews served at pallbearers and interment was made in the Mennonite Brethren Cemetery north of Enid.
