DANIEL C. WITMER

Daniel C. Witmer of Route 1, Columbiana, Ohio, aged 96 years, quietly passed away in his sleep on July 15, 1966, at Hutton Nursing Home, Salem, Ohio.

He was born in Beaver Township July 15, 1870, son of John and Lydia Witmer. He was married Jan. 28, 1896, to Anna Martin, who died Aug. 2, 1947.

He was ordained to the ministry in June 1916. His faithful testimony was known by his family, friends and the younger generation. He was known for his honesty, kindness and gentle leadership in the church and in his praise and dedication to God.

His three brothers and sisters preceded him in death.

He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Frank Vanpelt and Miss Mary Witmer, both of Route 1, Columbiana, one son, Enos, of Route 5, Salem, Ohio; 28 grandchildren and 88 great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were three sons — John in October 1918, Ezra in September 1957, and Owen in May 1960 — and four grandchildren.
