AUGUST CARL WINSKY

August Carl Winsky was born September 26, 1868, at Lacrescent, Huston county, Minnesota, and departed this life Jan. 19, 1952, at the age of 83 years, three months and three weeks.

He was confirmed April 16, 1882 in the Evangelical Lutheran church at Lacrescent, Minn. Later he united with the Mennonite church and in July 1941 became a member of the Mennonite church at Newport, Wash., of which church he remained a member until his death.

He was united in marriage to Philippina Graber on November 20, 1895, in Irving, Lane county, Oregon. They moved to Starkweather, North Dakota where they lived until 1905, and then moved to Alberta, Canada where they lived four years. In 1909 they returned to Alsen, North Dakota where they lived until 1935. They then moved to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho where they lived until his death.

He leaves to mourn his departure three daughters, Ella, Mrs. Harry Willis of Richland, Wash., Claudia, Mrs. Carl Norlin of Rathdrum, Idaho, and Milletta, Mrs. Walter Gering of Ritzville, Wash., and one son, William Winsky of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

“The righteous shall be an everlasting remembrance.”

Funeral services were conducted at the Mennonite church, Newport Wash, with Rev. Rudolph Schmidt officiating. A mixed quartet sang several of Mr. Winsky’s favorite songs. Burial was at the cemetery near the church.
