● Relatives from Newton attended funeral services at the Pretty Prairie Mennonite Church on Monday afternoon for Mrs. Herman Winsinger, 68, who died Thursday evening, Dec. 29, at Kingman Memorial Hospital after a long illness. Rev. Ben Rahn, the pastor, officiated at the services. Mrs. Winsinger, the former Marie Schrag, was the sister of Mrs. John B. Goering and Menno Schrag, the Review editor, both of Newton. Other survivors are her widower, of the home near Pretty Prairie; four daughters, Esther, Mrs. Pete Kroeker, Cheney; Elsie, missionary in the Republic of Mali, West Africa; Amy, Mrs. Gerald Bergen, missionary at Fortaleza, Brazil; and Ruth Elaine, student nurse in Hutchinson; one son, Harold, Topeka; sisters, Mrs. Rosina Schrag, Pretty Prairie, Mrs. Clara Borth, Cheney, Mrs. Kate Saner, El Dorado, Mrs. Lillian Heatershaw, Seattle, Wash.; brothers, Sam Schrag, Cheney, John Schrag, Omaha, Nebr., and Dan Schrag,Pretty Prairie; also three grandchildren. Elsie Winsinger returned home from Africa several weeks before her mother's death. Mrs. Bergen and her husband were not present at the funeral and had not yet been informed about the mother's death due to telephone and telegraph communication difficulties.
