text of obituary:

DIETRICH R. WINSINGER

Dietrich R. Winsinger, son of William and Margaret Winsinger, was born Jan. 22, 1884, near Derverden, Germany, and departed this life Jan. 25, 1970, at Moundridge, Kan. He was one of nine children.

At the age of seven he, with his family, moved to Thesdorf, near Hamburg, Germany, where he grew to young manhood. In January 1903 he came to America with his cousin, Fred Meyer, who had returned to Germany for a visit.

He became a member of the West Zion Mennonite Church in June, 1907, by affirmation of his faith in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, and remained a member until his death. He taught a German Sunday school class for many years, and also served as trustee and deacon. He faithfully attended church as long as his health permitted.

On Sept. 9, 1906, he was married to Elisabeth W. Rupp. They lived on a farm northeast of Moundridge until 1943, when they moved to Moundridge. They were permitted to walk life's pathway together for more than 56 years, his wife passing away in 1962. Two children were born to them, a daughter, Katherine, and a son, William, both of Moundridge.

He entered the Schmidt Nursing Home on Nov. 29, 1968. He was taken to Mercy Hospital Jan. 10. After a long illness he peacefully went to be with his Lord and Savior.

He is survived by his daughter, Katherine, his son William and wife Joy, all of Moundridge; brothers Herman Winsinger of Pretty Prairie, Otto F. Winsinger of Tucson, Ariz.; one sister, Mrs. Doris Pine of Wedel, Germany; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was a kind and loving father. We will greatly miss him, but rejoice with him that he is now at home with the Lord.
