Cecil Williams.

Cecil Clara Williams, youngest son of Elizabeth C. (Schmidt) and Leander Edgar Williams, was born at Johnson, Stanton County, Kansas, May 16, 1918, and departed from this life on December 30, 1937, at 2:15 in the Salem Hospital, Hillsboro, Kansas, at the age of 19 years, 5 months and 13 days.

In March, 1919 his father passed away. In December, 1927, his mother was taken away, leaving him without parents at the age of nine years.

He then made his home with R. J. Shetlar, attending the Johnson grade school until the spring of 1929, when he came to Hillsboro to live with his aunt, Mrs. J. J. Hiebert and finished his elementary training in the Schlehuber school.

In the winter of 1933 he made his home in Johnson, but later coming back to Hillsboro, where he remained until his death.

The past six months his health has been very poor. Three weeks ago he was taken to the hospital where his suffering was intense, although he never complained.

We have reason to believe now that he is at rest with his Savior.

He leaves to mourn his departure two sisters, Ruth Ewert, Newton, Kan.; Mrs. Bessie Hudgens, Johnson, Kansas; and 3 brothers Elmer and Joe of Yampa, Colo., Ira of Waverly, Wash.; 2 nephews William Lee and Kenneth Hudgens; two aunts, Mrs. J. J. Hiebert, Hillsboro, and family and Mrs. Melna Williams and family, Syracuse and one uncle, Peter Schmidt of Ulysses, kans., and other relatives and friends. A short funeral service was held on Jan. 2 at the Mennonite church in Hillsboro, with Rev. John H. Epp in charge. Interment was made in Johnson, Kans., on Jan. 4, beside his loved ones who had departed before him.
