ISAAC A. WILLEMS

Isaac A. Willems of Saskatoon passed away on August 1. He was born to Abraham and Sarah Willems on Nov. 7, 1896 in Jackson County, Minnesota. In 1899 his family moved to Canada, homesteading near Waldheim, Sask. During evangelistic services at the Brotherfield Mennonite Brethren Church, Isaac received the Lord Jesus as his personal Saviour at age 16. Several months later he was baptized and received into membership at Brotherfield. After attendance at the Herbert (Sask.) Bible School, he established a farm in the Brotherfield area. In 1935 he was married to Elizabeth Derksen of Borden, Sask. For health reasons, he retired from farm work in 1953, moving into Saskatoon with his family.

He will be remembered for his deep dedication to the Lord and the church's ministry. He will be missed by his beloved wife Elizabeth; two brothers: John and wife Sarah of Waldheim, Sask. and David and wife Agatha of Saskatoon; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held in the Central Mennonite Brethren Church in Saskatoon, August 4, with Rueben Baerg officiating.
