Funeral services for Mrs. Katherine Wiens, 73, of Hillsboro were held at the Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren church on Saturday, Feb. 1, with Harvey Jantz and Richard Wieneke officiating. She was the mother of Dr. Emerson Wiens, professor of industrial arts at Bethel College. Her death, which was unexpected, occurred Jan. 27 at Salem Hospital, Hillsboro. surviving in the immediate family in addition to the son here are the widower, Dan Wiens of Hillsboro; two others sons, Dr. Ernest and Donald, both of Denver, Colo.; two daughters, Mrs. Jonathan Bartel of Nagoya, Japan and Mrs. Herb Guhr of Hillsboro; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
