DAVID J. WIENS

David J. Wiens, the son of John and Katherina (nee Krueger) Wiens, was born in Southern Russia on February 16, 1894, and passed away on June 13, 1976 at Tabor Manor, St. Catharines. He was married to Mary Thiessen on March 17, 1918.

He was a member of the Mennonite Brethren Church, first in Tiege, Russia, and lastly in Kitchener, Ontario. H e faithfully served his Lord, the church and the conference in various capacities. The funeral was held at the Kitchener Mennonite Brethren Church on June 16 with pastor John F. Froese officiating. Rev. I. Toews, chaplain at Tabor Manor spoke in German on the "nevertheless" of trust in the Lord.

He is mourned by his beloved wife, Mary; two sons and their wives, David and Sophie and H enry and Ema; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; as well as other relatives and friends.
