Accident Near Marion Fatal to Former Hillsboro Teacher
PETER WIENS OF SHAFTER CALIFORNIA, KILLED IN AUTO WRECK OCTOBER 29
Marion, Kans., Oct. 31. — Peter Wiens, formerly of Shafter, Calif., was killed almost instantly in an automobile accident Tuesday morning eight miles south of Marion.
Wiens' Chevrolet sedan sideswiped a truck, with the result that his car was completely wrecked and the truck damaged. The driver of the truck suffered head injuries. The exact cause of the accident is not known, as it happenedd at 1:30 in the morning.
Mr. Wiens was on his way to Wichita where he intended to meet some friends. His parents live at Shafter, Calif., although he had also made his home at Enid, Okla., for some time. After attending Tabor College he taught rural school near Hillsboro.
The body was shipped to Shafter, Calif., where the funeral was held.
