JACOB H. WIENS
Jacob H. Wiens was born May 15, 1889, in Plum Coulee, Manitoba, to Jacob and Elizabeth Wiens.
He married Mary Dick on Dec. 15, 1912, in Clackboro, Sask.
In 1917, upon the confession of faith in Jesus Christ, he joined the Bruderthaler Church in Dalmeny, Sask.
In 1923 the family moved to Dallas, Ore. where they affiliated with the Evangelical Mennonite Brethren Church. Mr. Wiens was an ardent supporter of the church, both in attendance and giving. His example and testimony has brought the entire family into loyal church relationships.
After retirement from work at the Willamette Valley Lumber Company, he opened the Gospel Supply Store at his home, finding an avenue of rewarding Christian service. He was also a shoe salesman.
On Nov. 20, 1964, he left this life to be “present with the Lord.”
His survivors include his wife, Mary of Dallas; five sons, Lee of Salem, Ore., Dan and Paul of Dallas; Ben of Lake Oswego, and Sam of San Jose, Calif.; three daughters, Mary Funk of Los Gatos, Calif.; Martha Dalke of Dallas and Esther Wiens of Salem; 24 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted in the E. M. B. Church of Dallas, Oregon, on Dec. 2, 1964. Rev. Allan Wiebe officiating.
