text of obituary:
MRS. FRIEDA WALL WIENS
Frieda Wall Wiens, daughter of Henry and Anna Adrian Wall, was born on May 30, 1909, at Mountain Lake, Minn. Here she attended grade school and also graduated from Mountain Lake High School. As a girl of about 13, she accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and was baptized upon her confession of faith, uniting with the Mennonite Brethren Church.
On Sept. 21, 1932, she was united with George Wiens in holy matrimony. This union, which lasted 31 years and four months, was blessed with four children, two sons and two daughters. We spent our first years on a farm near Mountain Lake, and in 1946 moved to Fresno, Calif. Eight years later we moved to Reedley.
During the last years of her life she did not have the best of health. However, until about 10 days ago she was still at her job working for the Reedley school system. Upon the doctor's advice, she submitted to an operation on Jan. 22. We were informed immediately that her situation was a very difficult one, but when she awoke from the operation, and even had a few words with her pastor as he prayed with her, we had new hope. However, she was called home to glory. She passed away at about 4 p.m., Jan. 22, 1964. She reached the age of 54 years, eight months and seven days.
Those who remain to mourn her too early departure are: Her husband, George Wiens, Reedley; two sons, Alvin of Fresno and Norman of the home; two daughters, Esther and Gladys of the home; one daughter-in-law, Donna, and two grandchildren. She also leaves her aged father, Henry Wall of Mountain Lake, Minn.; three brothers, John Wall, Mountain Lake, Samuel Wall of “Back to the Bible Broadcast,” Lincoln, Neb., Elmer Wall,, Hillsboro, Kan., and a host of relatives and friends.
The memorial service was held Jan. 25 at Reedley, with Rev. Dan Friesen officiating.
