text of obituary:
DAVID G. WIEBERT
David Wichert of Virgil, Ontario, died suddenly on August 15 as a result of injuries suffered in a motorcycle accident while vacationing with his brother Tim and a friend, David Fast, in Nova Scotia.
David was born to George and Bertha Wichert of Virgil on December 3D, 1955. At the age of six he accepted Christ as his Saviour and Lord. As his faith grew he received baptism as a necessary step of obedience in March, 1972. He became an active member in the Orchard Park Bible Church of the Mennonite Brethren, serving in the choir, youth work, Sunday school and as an usher. After graduating from Eden Christian College and Niagara District Secondary School, he attended Columbia Bible Institute, in Clearbrook, B.C., for two enriching years. For the past year and a half he was employed by Super Sider Aluminum Company and was greatly appreciated for his careful workmanship.
David was loved and appreciated by his entire family. Along with his good-natured and even-tempered personality was a jovial and teasing spirit which made him easy to love. He coped quietly with difficulties as they arose and decisions were usually weighed carefully.
The most meaningful growth in David during the past five years was in his ever-increasing circle of friends. This showed his concern for the people he met through his church, job, and interest in motors.
Left to join him at a later date are his parents, George and Bertha Wichert, Nancy, Tim, Goeffrey and Suzanne, his grandfather, G. K. Dick, and many relatives and friends. The funeral service was conducted from Eden Christian College, with Rudy Bartel preaching and Herman Kroeker conducting the committal service.
