Little Girl Dies in Fire

Winkler, Manitoba. — Fires continued to plague the southern Manitoba area this month, and one of them claimed the life of a two-year-old girl.

Little Sherie Wiebe, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Abe Wiebe, died when flames engulfed the farm home of the family near Morden. An overheated stove pipe caused the blaze.

Two days later flames gutted the Jake Dyck farm home near Morden. At Winkler, fire destroyed the sunflower seed cleaning plant of H. A. Friesen, with loss estimated at $45,000.
