MRS. KATERINE WIEBE

(Mrs.) Katerina Wiebe of Coaldale, Alta. passed away on June 6. She was born to Daniel and Katerina Knelsen on September 9, 1895 in Romanovka, Russia. At the age of nine she committed her life to Jesus Christ and was soon baptized in the Mennonite Brethren Church. She was married to Abram J. Wiebe on January 19, 1914. After fifteen years of war and revolution, the Wiebes were able to leave Russia in 1929, spending some months in Germany. In Mary, 1930, they moved to Canada, living near Kelstern, Sask. for several years before homesteading near Speedwell, in northern Saskatchewan. In 1948they settled permanently in Coaldale.

Her prayerful concern and deep love for her family will be strongly remembered by her relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband in 1975, and a daughter. She is survived by three daughters: Tina (Mrs. Gus Fiedler) and Elizabeth (Mrs. Nick Veer) of Lethbridge, Alta., and Mary (Mrs. Emmanuel Fiedler) of Kelowna, B.C.; three sons: Abe and wife Gilda of Surrey, B.C., Dan and wife Isola of Manning, Alta., and Rudy and wife Tena of Edmonton; 28 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held in the Coaldale Mennonite Brethren Church with Rudy Heidebrecht officiating.
