MRS. JACOB B. WIEBE

Last rites were held for Aganetha Wiebe Thursday afternoon, June 18, at three o'clock, in the Baptist church, Perryton, Texas, with Rev. Dan L. Blickenstaff, pastor of the Brethren church, Waka, Texas, in charge. He was assisted by Rev. S. R. McClurg, pastor of the Perryton Baptist church and Rev. H. T. Neufeld, Enid, Okla. Interment was made in the Ochiltree county cemetery.

The Waka Brethren choir and a church, Balko, Okla., rendered comforting selections. In the home a quartet composed of Elba Mae, Frances, Vernon Buller and Lawrence Krause sang two selections. Pall bearers were Jake Boese, Dan Teater, Fred Butler, Homer Gurley, D. E. Buller and H. W. Bushman. The flower girls were nine of Mrs. Wiebe's granddaughters.

Aganetha Wiebe, nee Neufeld, was born Dec. 18, 1870, in the village Lindsnort, South Russia. In 1875 she came with her parents, Peter and Aganetha Wiens Neufeld, to the United Staes of America, where they settled in McPherson county, Kansas. with them she went through the hard experiences of pioneer life.

She accepted Christ as her Savior and on July 28, 1899, was baptized by Elder Henry Toews and accepted into the Bethel Mennonite church, Inman, Kansas.

On Dec. 14, 1892, she was united in marriage to Jacob B. Wiebe. To this union were born eight children, three sons and five daughters. They are: Abraham, Waka, Texas; Jacob, Clinton, Okla.; Mrs. Helen Fleming [sic Flaming], Weatherford, Okla.; Mrs. Agnes Janzen, Hooker, Okla.; Mrs. Martha Balzer, Dallas, Ore.; and Herman, Waka, Texas. All, but two, were present at her bedside when death came.

Father and mother shared life's joys and sorrows for 49 years, 6 months, less one day. In 1901 the family moved to Oklahoma and in 1917 to Ochiltree county, Texas. She was in ill health the greater part of the time. While in Texas her health improved until five years ago when serious illness set in and she suffered much. On Thursday, June 11, she had an attack and was in a state of coma from which she never recovered. She passed away peacefully Saturday evening, June 13, at 8:50 o'clock at the age of 71 years, 5 months and 26 days.

She leaves to mourn her husband, all eight children, three daughters-in-law, five sons-in-law, 35 grandchildren, one brother, two sister-in-law and a host of relatives and friends. Her parents, four sisters, five brothers and four grandchildren preceded her in death.

Mother is now in her heavenly home where she longed to be. She led a quiet and peaceful life and was very patient in her suffering. She was a devout Christian and a loving mother. We mourn, but not as such that have no hope. We know that we all shall meet again in heaven.

IN MEMORY OF MOTHER

By Mrs. Herman Wiebe

Mother, you have gone to heaven
Where you long have longed to be.
Christ was waiting at the Jordan
And He came to call for thee.

You have always been so loving
Bearing sorrow, grief and care
In your illness you were patient,
Whispered many a silent prayer.

We will miss you dearest Mother
Home is not complete any more,
There's a rocking chair now empty,
That brings memories o'er and o'er.

You have set us an example,
Taught us God's own ones to bee.
May we strive to live more earnest,
In thy foot-steps follow thee.

Yes, we mourn, our hearts are saddened
Yet not as those who have no hope.
For we'll see you some day Mother.
In that bright eternal Home.

God prepared that Home in Heaven
You have led the way to there,
One by one, we, too, are coming
Heaven's joys with you to share.
