MRS. SARA WIEBE

Sara Wiebe (nee Dyck), was born on January 8, 1880 at Blumstein, near the town of Winkler, Manitoba. She was the daughter of Gerhard and Anna (Wiebe) Dyck. Together with her parents she later moved to a farm at Kronsgart, Manitoba where she grew up.

Realizing her lost condition she received the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Saviour, was baptized in the year 1905 by the late Rev. John Warkentin and was received into the fellowship of the Mennonite Brethren Church. Her life was characterized by prayer and thanksgiving, and she was a devoted Christian mother to her children.

On April 16, 1899, she was married to Jacob G. Wiebe of Kronsgart, who predeceased her on November 19, 1956. In 1952 they retired to the town of Winkler. The last years of Mrs. Wiebe's life were spent in the Salem Home there. During January, 1967, she suffered several minor strokes and on February 23 it pleased the Lord to relieve her of her suffering and to take her into his fold.

She leaves to mourn her departure four sons: Jake of Plum Coulee, Manitoba, George of Myrtle, Manitoba, John of Kane, Manitoba and Peter of Clearbrook, B.C.; four daughters: Anna (Mrs. John Schulz), Elm Creek, Mantoba, Elizabeth (Mrs. George Schroeder), Morden, Manitoba, Tina (Mrs. Jake Braun), Plum Coulee, and Sara (Mrs. Nick Neufeld), Winkler; 36 grandchildren, and 57 great grandchildren. One son, Benjamin and one daughter-in-law, Nettie, predeceased her.

Mrs. Wiebe's passing brings to mind the words recorded in Revelation 14:13: "Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord henceforth. Blessed indeed," says the Spirit, "that they may rest from their labours for their deeds follow them."
