MRS. MARIE WIEBE

Mrs. Marie Wiebe was born to John and Margaret (Penner) Goossen on May 16, 1882, near DeWitt, Nebr. Besides district school she attended the parochial school which the Mennonites of Beatrice conducted for quite a few years.

She was baptized upon confession of her faith on June 4, 1900, and received into the First Mennonite Church of Beatrice, Neb. where she remained a faithful member until her death.

On April 10, 1907, she was united in marriage with Frank Wiebe, with whom she made her home on a farm near Beatrice, moving into town for retirement in 1936. Three daughters and two sons were born into this home, one of whom, Carl, preceded her in death.

The blessings of the Lord rested upon this home throughout the years, both in time of joy and in sorrow. Mrs. Wiebe and her husband were permitted to celebrate both the 25th and 50th wedding anniversaries in thanksgiving to God. A deep sorrow, in which God also gave strength, was the passing of their son, Carl.

Mrs. Marie Wiebe entered directly into the presence of her Saviour on Sunday morning, Jan. 26, 1958.

She is survived by her husband, Frank Wiebe; three daughters, Alma and husband Henry Linsenmeyer, Helen and husband Edwin J. Wiebe, and Dorothy and husband Abe K. Friesen of Hutchinson, Kansas; one son, John K. and wife Alice; one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Ella Wiebe; 11 grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Margaret Claassen, and one brother, Frank Goossen; and many other relatives and friends. — Frank Wiebe and Family.
