JOHANN J. WIEBE

Johann J. Wiebe, the son of John and Katherine Wiebe, was born on June 19, 1881, in Hirshau, Molotschna, Russia.

On May 28, 1898, he came to America. On March 17, 1904, he married Maria Enns, to which union were born two sons and three daughters; two sons and one daughter preceded him in death in infancy. On Sept. 24, 1933, the Lord called his wife home to be with Him.

In 1908 he found the Lord as his Saviour and was baptized at Hooker, Okla. He had a wonderful experience in his conversion and felt definitely called into the service of the Master, but through financial difficulties, he found it impossible to follow the call for service. His desire was continually to serve his Lord and Saviour wherever opportunities were offered.

He was a devoted father, and made it his duty to teach his children the Word of God and the way of salvation.

From Hooker, Okla. he and his family moved to Reedley. Later they moved to Bakersfield, and then to Los Angeles, where he was a member of the Mennonite Brethren Church. After his retirement from the railroad, he moved back to Reedley.

On January 25, 1936, he was married to Sarah Wall, who stood by him very faithfully until he was called home to glory on July 16, 1956, at 4:15 A. M. He attained the age of 75 years and 27 days.

He leaves to mourn his beloved wife, Mrs. Sarah Wiebe, Reedley, Calif.; two daughters, Hilda, Mrs. Harry E. Eitzen, Temple City, Calif., and Lydia, Mrs. Max J. Dursteler, Sacramento, Calif.; two sons-ion-law, four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

We mourn not as those who have no hope, for we know we shall meet him in glory where he now sees what he has believed. — Wife and Children.
