ELIZABETH HIESSEN WIEBE

Elizabeth Thiessen Wiebe, our mother, was born on Nov. 7, 1877, at Jansen, Neb., and passed away march 6, 1956, at the age of 78 years.

She grew up in the vicinity where she was born.

Under the ministry of Peter A. Wiebe, she realized her lost condition and accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Saviour. She was baptized by Rev. Jacob A. Wiebe on May 21, 1893.

She was married to Henry H. Wiebe on April 28, 1896, by Rev. Henry Wiebe. To this union nine children were born all of whom are living at this time.

In 1908 they moved to hooker, Okla., where they lived under the hardships of a pioneer life. After four and a half years, they moved back to Jansen, Neb., where they remained until 1925 when they moved to Paxton, Neb.

Father preceded mother in death on Oct. 6, 1944.

Although mother endured many hardships in her life, her faith and trust in God enabled her to carry on. She was always concerned about her children.

The last two years of her life were spent in the Reedley, Calif. Home where she was tenderly cared for.

She leaves to mourn her departure five daughters, Rosie Doerksen of Reedley, Matilda Suderman of Newton, Kansas, Elma Griesen of Madrid, Neb., Hilda Lowen [sic Loewen] of Sterling, Colo., and Mildred Ediger of Fresno, Calif.; four sons, Roland Wiebe of San Antonio, Texas, John Wiebe of Madrid, Alvin Wiebe of Dalhart, Texas, and Donald Wiebe of Greensburg, Pa.; five sons-in-law and four daughters-in-law; 20 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren; and relatives and friends. — The children.
