CORNELIUS W. WIEBE

Cornelius W. (Neil) Wiebe of Abbotsford, B.C. passed away July 19 of a heart attack. He was born in 1927 in Provost, Alta. He became a Christian as a teen and was baptized July 25, 1948 in Yarrow (B.C.) MB Church. Over the years he sang in church choirs, male choirs and various quartets. He was an active member of Central Heights MB Church at the time of his death. He married Kay Wittenberg Aug. 27, 1950. She died in 1980, and two years later he married Lou Lloyd. In 1956 he started Vedder Transport Ltd. with one truck. The company has grown so that it has over 100 pieces of equipment, and several other companies were created. He developed a tractor collection of over 90 John Deere tractors from all eras. He was a people person, caring for people in practical ways and expressing concern for their spiritual lives. As a result of this concern, many came to know the Lord. Ps. 23 was his favourite scripture. Predeceased by his first wife Kay, he is mourned by his wife Lou; sons Larry, Robert and Marvin and 7 grandchildren, of Abbotsford; 2 brothers and 6 sisters. The funeral was July 23 in Central Heights MB Church, with Terry Winter ministering.
