— Mrs. Henry R. Wiebe, 56, of the Conway community died at the Bethel Deaconess hospital here April 27 after a long illness. She was a member of the Zion Mennonite church near Inman, where the funeral services were conducted Monday forenoon by Rev. A. R. Toews. Surviving are the widower, one son, two daughters, five sisters and eight brothers. Mrs. Wiebe was the former Anna Ensz.

MRS. ANNA WIEBE

Mrs. Anna Wiebe was born Dec. 11, 1903 to Abram G. and Margaret Ensz, and departed from this life April 27, 1960, reaching the age of 56 years, four months and 16 days.

She grew to womanhood in the Inman community. At the age of 14 years she felt the need of a Saviour, repented and found forgiveness of her sins. On Dec. 30, 1917, she was baptized upon the confession of her faith and became a member of the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite, remaining faithful to the end.

On April 27, 1924 she joined hands in holy matrimony with Henry R. Wiebe, sharing joys and sorrows of life for 36 years. She departed this life on their 36th wedding anniversary. To this union three children, one son and two daughters, were born.

Our mother was of a cheerful disposition, faithful and devoted to her family. She took interest in church activities, giving a helping hand when needed. She was given to hospitality, extending a friendly welcome to all.

Mother enjoyed fairly good health until recent years. In June 1958 she underwent major surgery, from which she apparently recovered. In October 1959 her health began to fail and progressively declined. On April 26, 1960, she was admitted to the hospital and on the following morning, at 5 a.m., she quietly and peacefully passed away.

Mother was patient in her illness and though she would have preferred to remain with her family, she was resigned to God's will. She has left us the assurance that she is resting with Jesus on the other shore.

She leaves to mourn her departure her deeply bereaved husband; one son, Roy Wiebe and wife Dessie of Yale, South Dakota; two daughters, Arlene and husband Wilbert Giesbrecht of Clearbrook, British Columbia, and Phyllis of the home; seven grandchildren, five sisters, seven brothers, and a host of relatives and friends. One brother and one sister preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held May2 at 10 a.m. Min A. R. Toews spoke comforting words to the immediate family in the home. At the Zion church Min. Carl Dirks opened with remarks and prayer after which Min. A. R. Toews preached the funeral sermon to a large audience. His texts were Job 14:1, 2, Heb. 4:9-10 and Rev. 14:13. Closing prayer was by Min. F. H. Wenger. The body was laid to rest in the nearby cemetery where Min. Carl Dirks spoke a few words on the resurrection of the dead and closed with prayer. — Father and Children.
