MRS. AGANETA WIEBE

(Mrs.) Aganeta Wiebe of Minneapolis passed away on October 24, one day after her 88th birthday. She was born October 23, 1890 to Peter and Elizabeth Janzen in Chortitza, southern Russia. As a teenager she accepted the Lord as her Saviour and was baptized. Nicholai Dyck, a young widower with two children, was baptized in the same service, and later she married Nicholai in Millerowo. The couple had one son, who died in infancy, and three daughters, one of whom died at the age of 14. The family emigrated to Danzig, in what is now Poland, in 1918, and Aganeta's husband died on the way. In 1927 she brought her two daughters to Canada. She met Philip Wiebe and married him in 1933, and the couple made their home in Minneapolis. Her second husband died in 1948. She spent the rest of her life with her daughter Agnes. For the last 40 years she had been a member of Faith Baptist Church, where the funeral service took place.

She was dearly loved by her children, and enjoyed serving other people. She leaves to mourn two daughers, Agnes of Minneapolis and Marie and Nick Thiessen of St. Eustache, Man.; five grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; two stepdaughters and one stepson, Elisabeth (Mrs. George) Hiebert and Anna (Mrs. Abe) Wiens of Mountain Lake, Minn., and Jakob Wiens of Minneapolis.
