New York Youth Fatally Injured in One-Car Crash
Lowville, N. Y. — Lynn Gary Widrick, 16, of rural Lowville was fatally injured at 10:15p.m. Sunday, Nov. 9, when a car in which he was a passenger left route 26 a half mile north of Lowville and struck a stone embankment.
He was pronounced dead on arrival at the Lewis County General Hospital. Death was caused by a severe skull fracture and multiple head and body injuries.
The funeral was held Nov. 12 at 1:15 at the family home, and at 2:00 p.m. at the Conservative Mennonite church, Croghan. Rev. Elmer Moser officiated.
Lynn was born at Lowville on March 12, 1953, the son of Aaron A. and Lauretta Widrick. He was a junior at the Lowville Academy and Central School. He attended the Lowville Conservative Mennonite Church.
Besides his parents he is survived by two brothers and one sister at home, his paternal grandparents and his paternal great-grandmother.
