Dallas, Ore. &#8212; A largely attended funeral took place at the Grace Mennonite Church here as services were held for Ezra H. Widmer, 64, prominent lay worker in the Pacific District of the General Conference Mennonite Church. Rev. Olin A. Krehbiel, the pastor, officiated.

Mr. Widmer died Oct. 17 in the Albany Hospital of injuries received in a traffic accident on Oct. 4. He was returning alone from a deer hunting trip when he apparently dozed at the wheel and his pickup truck went into the ditch.

A prominent farmer at North Albany before retirement, Mr. Widmer was chairman of the Pacific District Business Administration Committee at the time of his death. He was active in the Mennonite Aid Society, and helped build the First Mennonite Church of Phoenix, Ariz., where he usually spent the winter. A charter member and trustee of the Grace Mennonite Church at Albany, he recently joined the Dallas congregation when the Albany church dissolved.

Prominent Lay Worker Killed in Accident

Dallas, Ore. — A largely attended funeral took place at the Grace Mennonite Church here as services were held for Ezra H. Widmer, 64, prominent lay worker in the Pacific District of the General Conference Mennonite Church. Rev. Olin A. Krehbiel, the pastor, officiated.

Mr. Widmer died Oct. 17 in the Albany Hospital of injuries received in a traffic accident on Oct. 4. He was returning alone from a deer hunting trip when he apparently dozed at the wheel and his pickup truck went into the ditch.
