MRS. PAULINE WERSCH
Mrs. Pauline Wersch was born April 13, 1890, the daughter of Julius and Amalie Krueger of Volinien, Russia. When she was four years old her parents moved to Canada and settled at Libau, Man. In 1906 she entered married life with Emil Wersch enjoying 59 years together with him. The Lord blessed their family with four sons and three daughters, one son, Edward, preceding her in death in 1958. She found salvation in Christ in 1922 and was baptized and accepted into the McDermot Avenue Baptist Church. Later she and her husband joined the North End MB Church which afterward became the Elmwood Church. She knew the tensions of life but she also knew the grace of God which was always greater than trials or conditions. She learned how to be content in diverse conditions and managed to make a happy home by her cheerful attitude and optimistic outlook. During their married life she and her husband lived for a time in Winnipeg, moved to B.C. and then returned to Winnipeg again.
In 1952 her health began to fail, gradually confining her to her home. Late in March of this year she became seriously ill and after a short period of hospitalization, died. She died March 27 at 75 years. She is survived by her husband Emil; three sons, Arthur, Albert, and Walter; three daughters, Mrs. Alice Piltz, Mrs. Angela Kaufmann, Mrs. Lydia Wuerch; 27 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. The funeral took place in the Elmwood Mennonite Brethren Church with Rev. I. W. Redekopp and Wm. Falk of Morden, ministering.
