P. P. WENGER

P. P. Wenger, son of Benedict and Magdelena [sic Magdalena] (Gingerich) Wenger, was born Aug. 4, 1875, in Washington county, Iowa.

In his youth he united with the Sugar Creek Mennonite church. In 1902 he became a member of the Eicher Emmanuel Mennonite church and continued as a faithful, loyal member until the time of his death. Through all the years he was active in the work of the church serving faithfully as Sunday school teacher, Sunday school superintendent, and on various boards and committees of the church. He was especially interested in the young people.

On March 20, 1901, he was united in marriage with Emma Lodders who shared the joys and disappointments with him for almost 54 years. He is survived by his companion and his two daughters, Edith, Mrs. P. P. Preheim, of Marion, South Dakota and Florence at home. He is also survived by five grandchildren and one brother, Sam G. of Reading, Minn.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Iona Mae, who died in infancy, his parents, three brothers and two sisters.

P. P. WENGER

P. P. Wenger, son of Benedict and Magdalena (Gingerich) Wenger, was born Aug. 4, 1875, in Washington county, Iowa, and died Jan. 14, 1955, at the age of 79 years, five months and 10 days, having lived his entire life in the Wayland Community.

In his youth he united with the Sugar Creek Mennonite church. In 1902 he became a member of the Eicher Emmanuel Mennonite church and continued as a faithful, loyal member until the time of his death. Through all the years he was active in the work of the church, serving faithfully as Sunday School teacher, Sunday School superintendent, and on various boards and committees of the church. He was especially interested in the young people.

Funeral services were held at the Eicher church on Jan. 17, in charge of the pastor Rev. H. E. Nunemaker, and Rev. H. J. Schrag of Fort Des Moines, former paster [sic] and friend of the family. Burial was in the Eicher cemetery.
