Noah Welty

Noah, son of Ulrich and Anna (Bare) Welty, was born May 27, 1875, died May 10, 1949, at the age of 73 years, 11 months and 13 days at his home near Nappanee, Ind. after an illness of two months.

In his youth he united with the Mennonite church and was a member of the Salem Mennonite church at the time of death. He was united in marriage with Saloma Leinbach on September 11, 1910. To this union were born four sons and one daughter. He was very much devoted to his family and church and was faithful in his attendance at church services.

Surviving are his wife; four sons and one daughter, Ray of New Paris, Nelson of Foraker, Virgil of Wakarusa, Everett of Goshen, and Viola at home; two brothers, William H. and David of Nappanee; three sisters, Mrs. Michael Landes, Mrs. Ira Weldy and Mrs. Mary Weldy of Elkhart; and ten grandchildren.

Funeral services were held May 10 at the Yellow Creek church, with Ray Yoder and Francis Freed in charge. Interment was made in adjoining cemetery. -- Wm. H. Welty.

Noah Welty

Noah Welty, 73, a native of near Nappanee, Ind., died Tuesday, May 10, at 2:45 p. m. at his home in Union township. Death followed an illness of two months.

Mr. Welty was born May 27, 1875, a son of Ulrich and Anna Welty, and his marriage to Salome Leinbach took place Sept. 11, 1910. He was a member of the Salem Mennonite church, Nappanee.

Surviving are his wife, four sons, Ray, of New Paris; Nelson, of Foraker, and Virgil and Everett, both of Wakarusa; a daughter, Miss Viola Welty, at home; 10 grandchildren; two brothers, William and David, both of Nappanee, and three sisters, Mrs. Michael Landis, Mrs. Ira Weldy, and Mrs. Mary Weldy of near Elkhart.

Funeral services were held Friday at 2:30 p. m. at the Yellow Creek Mennonite church. The Rev. Ray Yoder and the Rev. Francis Freed officiated and burial was in the cemetery adjoining the church.
