Funeral services were held Nov. 21 at a Nappanee, Ind. funeral home for Mrs. Maggie Welty, 71, who died of burns suffered at her home about a week earlier. Rev. Richard Yoder, pastor of the North Main Street Mennonite Church officiated.

Mrs. Welty, widow of David Welty, sustained second and third degree burns on her back while attempting to light an oil-burning space heater.

Mervin Hofer, 25-year-old farmer of the Menno, S. D. community, was killed when drawn into machinery while helping to move a haystack. The accident occurred when his glove caught on cables. Funeral services were held at Freeman, S. D.
