Heart Attack Fatal To College Student

Wakarusa, Ind. — Paul Edward Weldy, 21, student at Goshen College died at 6:30 Wednesday morning, July 13, in the family home following a heart attack. In his early teens he was bedfast for some time with rheumatic fever.

He was born July 29, 1955 [sic 1934], the son of Maynard and Edna Weaver Weldy, and was a grandson of Rev. Silas Weldy, who died on May 27 of this year. As a member of the Holdeman Mennonite church he taught in the Sunday school and wa active in other phases of church work.

Surviving are the parents, two brothers Loren and Leland, and one sister, Elaine, at home; his grandparents, Mrs. Elnora Metzler Weldy and Mr. and Mrs. William Weaver; and his fiancee; Mrs. Leann Fricke of Goshen.

Funerals services were held July 15 at the Olive Mennonite church with Rev. Simon Gingerich and Bishop Lee Miller in charge. Burial was made in the adjoining cemetery.
