MRS. HENRY WELDY
Mrs. Alma Dollman Weldy, who had been bedfast for the past three months, passed away at 5 a.m., Sunday morning, Aug. 24, at the home of a daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Loucks, southwest of Wakarusa, Ind., at the age of 81 years, four months and five days.
The deceased was a daughter of Joel and Martha (Myers) Dollman, and was born April 19, 1866, in St. Joe county. Her marriage to Rev. Henry Weldy took place July 15, 1883, who passed away Feb. 24, 1934. To this union were born seven children. Two of the children have preceded their mother in death, Otis and Mrs. Sarah Horein.
Those left to mourn her departure are three daughters, Mrs. Aaron Myers, of Goshen, Mrs. Emma Mullett and Mrs. Oliver Loucks, two sons, Cornelius and Noah, all of Wakarusa, 32 grandchildren, 60 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. W. H. Hunsberger and Mrs. W. G. Hunsberger, and a brother, John Dollman of South Bend, and a host of relatives and friends. They also reared a niece, Mrs. Mahlon Weaver.
Mrs. Weldy united with the Mennonite church at the age of 20 years and was a faithful member until death. Her husband was ordained to the ministry at the Holdeman church 48 years before his death and held pastorates at the Holdeman, Madison Chapel, Teegarden and other churches.
Funeral services were held Aug. 26 with a prayer service at 1:30 by the Rev. D. D. Troyer, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Loucks, followed by a further service at 2:00 o’clock at the Holdeman Mennonite church in charge of the Rev. Warren Shaum. Burial was in the North Union cemetery.
