Fracture Fatal to Indiana Woman, Married 72 Years

Goshen, Ind. — A marriage relationship which had extended over a period of nearly 73 years was severed May 16 with the passing of Mrs. Martha Weirich, 91, a resident of the Shipshewana community most of her life.

Complications resulting from a leg fracture suffered two weeks earlier caused Mrs. Weirich's death at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Gabriel Yoder, in Elkhart where she and her husband, Abraham Weirich, had resided for two years.

Mr. and Mrs. Weirich were married June 2, 1889. Surviving in addition to the husband are six daughters, one son, 21 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, nine great-great-grandchildren, and a half brother, Joseph Yoder of Middlebury.

Funeral services were conducted at the Shore Mennonite Church by Rev. Lee Miller.
