OTTO C. WEHMULLER

Otto Carl Wehmuller was born Dec. 5, 1883 at Berger, Mo. to Fritz and Augusta (Seger) Wehmuller. In 1901 he moved with his parents to a farm northeast of El Reno, Okla.

In 1897 he was baptized upon his confession of faith by Rev. Jacob Houtz and received into the Berger Evangelical Church. Upon settling in Oklahoma he joined the Mennonville Mennonite Church where he remained a faithful member to his death.

On Jan. 14, 1909 he was united in holy matrimony with Viola Wiedman. To this union were born one son and one daughter. Joys and sorrows were shared for 43 years when mother went to her heavenly reward March 12, 1952. Also preceding him in death were one brother and one sister, besides his parents.

On Nov. 28, 1954 he was married to Hilka (Schmidt) Bergman with whom he was privileged to share his sunset years for eight years and three months.

He was an active member in the church, serving as deacon for many years and as a member of the mixed quartet. He enjoyed good health until one year ago when he suffered a heart attack from which he did not fully recover. On Feb. 23 he was taken to the Okarche Memorial Hospital, where after four days he quietly passed away to be with his Lord, reaching the age of 78 years, two months and 22 days.

We will remember him as a kind and loving husband and father with a sincere concern for his family. Surviving are one son, Oscar Wehmuller; one daughter, Mrs. J. R. (Wilma) Stine; nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and eight cousins, all living in Missouri.

Funeral services were held March 2, 1963 in the Wesleyan Methodist Church in El Reno with Rev. Henry Hege of Geary officiating, and Rev. Raymond DeLaughter assisting. Interment was made in the El Reno Cemetery.
