MRS. ANNA (UNRUH) WEDELL

Anna Unruh Wedell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cornelius Unruh, was born Oct. 20, 1872, in Russia. She emigrated to America in her early childhood.

She was united in marriage to Gustav Wedell on Nov. 16, 1892. They made their home on a farm west of Hurley, S. D. To this union 11 children were born of whom six are living.

She became ill in February 1956 and was taken to the Freeman, S. D. Hospital for five weeks and then transferred to the Bruns Convalescent home in Sioux Falls, S. d., where she had loving care until her death.

She passed away quietly on Wednesday evening, June 5, 1957, at 10:30 o'clock at the age of 84 years, seven months and 16 days.

She was a member of the Evangelical Church for many years and in later years joined the Salem Mennonite Church of which she was a member until her death.

She was preceded in death by her husband, five children and one grandchild. She leaves to mourn her departure four sons, Henry of Parker, S. D., John Gust. Jr., and and Corney of Hurley; two daughters, Tena Petersen of Hurley and Anna Christensen of Portland, ore.; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; two half brothers, Ben Unruh of Goodrich, N. D., and Dan Unruh of Casselton, N. d.; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held June 8 at 1:30 p. m. in the Salem Mennonite Church with Rev. J. H. Fretz officiating. Mrs. Gene Waltner was at the organ and a quartet, Peter H. Graber, Richard Graber, Otto Preheim and Menno Kaufman, sang two songs.

Interment was made in the Hurley cemetery. — The Wedell Family.
