• Mrs. Katherine Wedel, 72, widow of Prof. Edward B. Wedel, died last Saturday at the Memorial Home for the Aged, Moundridge. She was a resident of North Newton for a number of years and a member of the Bethel College Church. The funeral was conducted Tuesday afternoon at the Eden Mennonite Church near Moundridge by Rev. Russell L. Mast. Surviving are a son, Dr. Arnold M. Wedel, North Newton; a daughter, Mrs. Oswald Goering of Oregon, Ill.; two brothers and four sisters, all of the Moundridge community; and five grandchildren.

Katherine Wedel, daughter of Peter H. and Katherine Schrag Wedel, was born Nov. 9, 1894 at Moundridge, Kan. and died on April 22, 1967 at Moundridge. She was baptized in the Eden Church, and in May 1923 transferred her letter to the Bethel College Church in North Newton.

'Mrs. Wedel graduated from Bethel Academy in 1916. On Sept. 2, 1917 she was united in marriage with Edward B. Wedel. He died in 1952. Most of the years of her married life were spent in Holdenville and Deer Creek, Okla. and the North Newton and Wichita, Kan. communities where Mr. Wedel was a high school and college teacher.

Survivors include one son, Arnold M. and wife of North Newton; a daughter, Mrs. Oswald (Elaine) Goering and husband of Oregon, Ill.; five grandchildren; and two brothers and four sisters, all of the Moundridge community.
