● Wesley J. Wedel, 64, of Mulvane, brother of Arnold C. Wedel of North Newton, died Dec. 10 at St. Joseph Medical Center, Wichita. Funeral services were held Dec. 14 at Calvary Mennonite Church, Liberal, with James Richie officiating. Burial was in Turpin (Okla.) Mennonite Cemetery. A former Liberal resident, he moved to Mulvane in 1980. He farmed and worked for Concrete Inc., Tradewinds Inc., Beech Aircraft Co. and Boeing Aircraft Co. Other survivors include his wife, Betty L. (Markrum); one son, Michael of Mulvane; and two daughters, Caroline Springer Lupton of Wichita and Debora Taylor of Liberal; one other brother, Menno of Liberal; four sisters, Irene Reemer of Covina, Calif., Bertha Plett and Freda Isaacs, both of Turpin, Okla., and Anna Wichert of Buhler; nine grandchildren, one stepgrandson and one great-great-granddaughter.
