Services Held For Oklahoma Pioneer

Aberdeen, Idaho — Funeral services for Peter Benjamin Wedel, 80, pioneer Mennonite settler in Oklahoma, were held at the Packham mortuary in Blackfoot on Sept. 13. Rev. H. N. Harder, pastor of the First Mennonite church of Aberdeen, officiated.

Mr. Wedel was born in St. Petersburg, Russia, and migrated to Oklahoma as a young man. He lived in that state until a few years ago, when he moved to Marsing, Idaho. In recent months he had lived with his son, Jake Wedel of the Abe Isaak ranch near here, the only surviving child in a family of seven. His wife passed away in 1926.
