MRS. JACOB WEDEL
Funeral services for the late Mrs. Jacob Wedel, were held in the Black Creek (B.C.) Church on April 23, 1966. Maria Wedel was born on March 27, 1896 in Bogomasowo, Russia, where she spent her early years and received her schooling. Later the family moved to Rosenwald.
In 1911 she accepted the Lord as her personal Saviour, was baptized and accepted into the MB church. On October 17, 1917, she married Jacob Wedel. Four daughters and four sons were born to them. Of these three sons and one daughter died in early childhood.
In 1925 they came to Canada, and after several moves, settled in Black Creek, B.C. During the last 11 months she was hospitalized and suffered much, until the Lord took her by the hand and led her to her heavenly home. She longed to be in the presence of the one she loved and trusted.
Remaining to mourn her passing are her husband Jacob Wedel, three daughters and their husbands; one son and his wife; 10 grandchildren; one brother, Heinrich Loewen in Paraguay; and one sister-in-law, Sara Loewen in Russia.
