In seinem 19.

ANDREW T. WEDEL

Andrew T. Wedel, son of Rev. T. P. and Eva Wedel, was born December 16, 1878, in McPherson county, Kansas, where he also spent his early life.

He accepted Christ as his Saviour and was baptized Juen 7,1 897, by Rev. Peter Balzer and received into the Canton Mennonite church near Moundridge, Kansas.

Aug. 18, 1900, he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Unruh. Soon after their wedding they moved to Oklahoma and made their home on a farm north of Ringwood, where he resided until his departure. Here he also joined the New Hopedale church. He was an active member of this church in various fields of service. His vacancy was keenly felt during his illness, but will be more keenly felt by his departure.

At harvest time his health began to fail. He sought medical aid, but with little result. Sept 9 he was taken to the hospital and was improving nicely until Sept. 20 when he became worse. Sept. 23 he was removed from the hospital to his home, being seriously ill with stomach ulcer. During his suffering the 23rd Psalm was very precious to him. he often called to his dear Shepherd to come and relieve him.

He passed away into the tender Shepherd's care Nov. 20, 1943, at 6:10 A. M. at the age of 64 years, 11 months and 3 days. He leaves to mourn his departure his bereaved wife, one son Arnold and wife Elizabeth, one grandchild, Mamie Evelyn. Two infant daughters preceded him in death. he leaves also his mother, 3 brothers, Barney of Goltry; Frank of Los Angeles, Calif.; Nelson, of Ringwood, 4 sisters, Eva Schmidt, Pawnee Rock, Kansas; Lizzie Smith, Ringwood; Lena Koehn, McPherson, Kansas; Susie Koehn, Canton, Kans., and 3 aged uncles and a host of relatives and friends.

We have lost our dear, sweet father,
     He no more on earth shall roam,
And there'll never be another.
     Who can take his place at home.

Father's life was true and faithful
     And his heart was filled with love;
Trusting Jesus as his Saviour,
     Who can take his place at home.

Some day we will go to meet him
     Where there'll be no more good-byes,
We can think of nothing sweeter
     Than our meeting in the skies.

O dear Father, how we'll miss you
     But no more on earth you'll roam;
Some sweet day we'll all be with you
     In that bright eternal home.
