HARRY H. WEAVER

Harry H. Weaver Jr., 91, of Landis Homes, Lititz, Pa., formerly of Blue Ball, died Sept. 14, 1996, at Lancaster General Hospital.

Born on a farm in Earl Township, he was the son of the late Harry M. Sr. and Susan Hershey Weaver. He was the husband of Lottie Zimmerman Weaver, who died in 1989.

He spent 30 years working in the poultry business. He was founder and president of Harry H. Weaver Inc. and Bird-in-Hand Poultry Co. and Processing Plant. In 1955 he founded Weaver-Witwer Co., a plumbing, heating and electrical contracting firm with which he was associated until 1986. He was also a director at Blue Ball National Park from 1944 to 1984, serving the last nine years as its president.

He was chairman of Eastern Lancaster County School Authority for 13 years and served as board member and chairman of James Spring and Wire Co. at Media, Pa. He was involved with the Black Rock Camp Association of Quarryville, where he served on the maintenance and benefit sale committees. Black Rock is a church camp of the Lancaster Conference.

In 1989 he moved to Landis Homes, where he was chairman of the residents' council for four years.

He was a member of Hinkletown Mennonite Church, where he served on the church council, as Sunday school teacher, superintendent, and church trustee.

Surviving are two sons, Glenn H. of Blue Ball and Robert of Danville, Ky.; a daughter, Lois J., wife of Joachim (Joe) Friesen of Towanda, Kan.; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
