MRS. IDA WARKENTIN

Ida Warkentin, daughter of Henry F. and Katherine Janzen, was born July 23, 1897, near Corn, Okla., and passed into the Great Beyond to meet her Lord Jesus on Tuesday, March3, 1959, in the Reedley, Calif. hospital after a long illness. She reached the age of 61 years, eight months and 20 days.

In 1906 she moved with her parents to Michigan, and in 1912 to Reedley. She received her education at the places where she resided.

In 1913 she was deeply convicted of her soul's need of Jesus as her Savior and found peace with God. She was baptized on April 18 of the same year and received into the fellowship of the Reedley Mennonite Brethren Church and remained a faithful member.

She was married to John R. Warkentin on Oct. 8, 1916. To this union were born four children: Elvin, who departed this life at the age of 20 years, Vernon J., Roselyn and Betty. This union lasted a period of 42 years, four months and 25 days.

She was in good health up to the age of 34 but since then, after a major operation, she had suffered from time to time to such a degree that it often became unbearable and she did not know what to do except to call upon her Lord. Often she found relief for soul and body when prayer was made in faith. She was much concerned about her family and prayed for each one by name from the oldest to the youngest in the early morning hours when they were all asleep in their own several homes. Being awake due to pain, spent time in prayer for them and others that they all might reach heaven when God calls.

She was always grateful for all the kindnesses in her sickness, to her husband and family, friends, and relatives, as well as for the medical and hospital service that she received.

She leaves to mourn he departure, her husband, John B. Warkentin of Reedley; three children, Roselyn, Mrs. Eddie Goertzen and husband of Fresno; Vernon J. Warkentin, wife and children of Reedley; Betty, Mrs. Anthony Bush, tony and family of Fresno; one brother, John R. Janzen of Campbell, Calif., four sisters, Mrs. A. M. Friesen of South Gate, Calif., Mrs. Al Bonds of Oakland, Calif., Mrs. John Pankratz of Reedley, and Mrs. George Nikkel of Reedley; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and many relatives and friends. We mourn not as such as have no hope, but shall meet her again in heaven.

The memorial service was held in the Reedley Mennonite Brethren Church on Friday, March 6, with Rev. Dan Friesen, the pastor, officiating. — The Family.
