text of obituary:

MRS. ANNA WALTNER

Anna Kaufman Waltner, daughter of Daniel and Katherina (Goering) Kaufman, was born March 2, 1884, in Harvey County, near Moundridge, Kan., where she grew to womanhood. She received her education in the local school.

On Oct 8, 1899, she was baptized upon confession of her faith in Jesus Christ as her personal Saviour by Rev. David Gerber and received into the Eden Mennonite Church where she remained a faithful member until her death.

She was united in marriage with John A. Waltner on Nov. 28, 1907. They established their home on a farm near Moundridge, sharing the joys and sorrows of married life for 17 years. Three sons were born to this union.

On March 11, 1925, after an illness of three and one-half years, father passed away, leaving mother with the responsibility of providing a livelihood on the farm with the help of three grade school age boys. Her parents, brothers and sister were a great help to her in these trying years.

Mother remained on the farm until 1955 when she moved to Elyria, near McPherson, Kan. After several months of failing health, she moved to the Memorial Home for the Aged, Moundridge, where she was a resident for the past seven months. Here she learned to know and appreciate many fellow residents, and cherished the daily visits of her brother, Ben, who is also a resident of the Home.

Mother was fond of flowers and did much reading. She enjoyed being with people.

Mother often expressed her desire to go to her heavenly home. On Jan. 7 she was admitted to Mercy Hospital. She quietly passed away on Monday, Jan. 9, reaching the age of 82 years, 10 months, and seven days.

Her husband, one grandson, two brothers and two sisters preceded her in death. Surviving are her three sons, Clifford and wife Frieda of Moundridge, Milford and wife Ann of McPherson, and Olin and wife Katherina of Newton; six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; four brothers, Ben, Chris and Dave of Moundridge, and Dan of Newton; one sister, Lydia, Mrs. Paul P. Goering of Moundridge; four sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law and many other relatives and friends. — The Family.
